Our live mat classes were postponed until recently, but we offered a temporary online alternative to our normal timetable since March 2020. We thank everyone who has taken part in our online classes.
We are now re-open for some of our face to face classes whilst also remaining on Zoom too . Our current timetable is listed at the bottom of ths page.
Joseph H Pilates developed his system of Body Conditioning throughout his life. His work has since been continued by devotees of his exercise techniques and recently has become hugely popular. His exercises work on a range of movements that mobilise, strengthen, stretch and tone the body without building bulk.
The Body Control Pilates® method is derived from the original work of Joseph Pilates. We use this in our mat Induction courses. Our regular classes then move on to progressively build to the level required to perform Joseph Pilates ‘classic’ exercises.
A Pilates mat class is effective and safe for most people of all ages and fitness levels, from the first time exerciser to athlete, as the exercises may be adapted for your own personal needs.
Practised safely Pilates improves core-stability. You can learn to develop a girdle of strength in the muscles of your torso. This strength in your core in turn helps improve your posture, so your body appears more streamlined which also has an affect on your balance co-ordination and general fitness.
By working the deep core muscles, your body gradually becomes stronger and more flexible over time. This can allow you to move more naturally and with ease. Using the correct techniques helps you to reach your full potential safely in a controlled way.
If you are new to Pilates you will need to either take some introductory 1 to 1's, or attend a group Induction course with us to cover the basic principles. This is so you understand how to work safely before joining one of the regular group mat classes on the timetable.
At the Canolfan Beulah Community Church Centre, Rhiwbina (on the crossroads of Heol-y-Deri/Pantbach Road and Beulah Road) - venue is now open for pre-booked classes only.

Induction courses for new beginners usually run three times per year in Rhiwbina. Our latest face to face evening course on Monday evenings at 6.45pm started 13 September 2021. Please contact us if you want more details as there are only a few spaces left.

Other times are available for mat work 1-1s (or duos) which can usually be arranged with us by appointment at our Studio or online.
Our timetable lists our regular group mat classes, some of which have been running for over 20 years now. Class numbers are have always been restricted to 12 people per teacher , but face to face classes are currently reduced being to a maximum of 9. All classes are payable in advance in five weekly blocks.
