We are a married couple from Taffs Well and are both Dance and Pilates teachers. We are happy to be able to offer you two different but related disciplines, to help keep both the mind and body fit and agile in enjoyable ways regardless of age or previous experience.

 About us as teachers

Caroline Mouncher

Fellow -  National Association of Teachers of Dancing

I went to my first Dance lesson in my home town of Romford, Essex at the age of 3  and have loved it ever since.

I studied at the London School of Classical Dance from 16 on  a three year full-time vocational training course. I took a wide variety of dance and related subjects including Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Jazz, Anatomy, Music, and Choreography and did my first apprenticeship as a dance teacher.

I graduated from there as a teacher qualified in the Cecchetti method of ballet and stayed on working for them as a children's ballet teacher at their junior school.

Robert Mouncher

Licentiate - National Association of Teachers of Dancing

I am from Cardiff and started dancing at the age of 17. I took classes here before moving to London to train full-time at the Arts Educational School for two years, and the Central School of Ballet for a final year.

My first Pilates classes were with Gordon Thomson (co-founder, with Lynne Robinson of the Body Control Pilates Association ® ) at the Body Conditioning Studio in Covent Garden back in the early days when I was still a dance student.

I became a professional dancer / singer and worked in theatre productions in Jersey, Manchester and Swansea. I appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and with the National Youth Music Theatre. I was a “swing” in the West End production of Cats.

We met each other in London when Rob was working as a dancer and Caroline was teaching Ballet and soon after we got married.

When we moved away from London to Cardiff,  Rob re-trained in Sports Massage and Reflexology. Caroline continued to  teach children's dance classes.

We decided to work together as a dance couple and studied new dance styles, becoming Ballroom and Latin American teachers with the NATD over twenty years ago.

We have taught dance together in Cardiff since 1995 and started out by working for the late Harry Marks , Cardiff County Council, Viva, Living Well, The Metropolitan Club and the University of Glamorgan. We have also led dance holidays for HF Holidays Ltd., and in 2002, we were dance professionals teaching on the "QE2" cruise-liner.

We first started our own dance business in 1998 and gradually built it from a single private dance class to the present timetable. We added on extra Pilates classes too and now run our own small Pilates Studio.

Our dance teaching qualifications are in Ballroom Dance, Latin American Dance and Country & Western Dance. Caroline is a Ballet teacher and a Freestyle Dance teacher and is a Fellow of the NATD in this form of dance.

We are both qualified Pilates matwork teachers with the Body Control Pilates Association ®. Rob was one of the first Pilates mat work instructors to work in Wales. Rob has taught his mat classes since 2000 and Caroline hers from 2006.

Rob did his first Studio equipment training with the BCPA and has a Reformer qualification with them. We both had comprehensive  Studio teacher training with Gordon Thomson and Ellie Ioannidou in Pilates Reformer , Cadillac and Chair apparatus from 2009 to 2013. We qualified to teach Studio work after training with Gordon Thomson's Body Control Pilates ® Organisation Ltd.

We opened our Pilates Studio in Rhiwbina in 2015 to allow us to teach Pilates apparatus work as well as  mat classes.

We have taught a wide variety of movement related classes over many years  and now concentrate on teaching both Pilates and Ballroom and Latin American social dance for adults, here in Cardiff. Our aim is to bring out our client's movement potential in an enjoyable and rewarding way.
